My name is Daniyar Zhanbekov. I am a businessman from Kazakhstan with extensive foreign networking, a professional participant in the investment market, film producer and a media manager.
I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA). I had an experience of working in recognized industry leaders such as Lehman Brothers and Renaissance Capital.
But then I realized that my homeland needed my knowledge and experience, and I decided to return to Kazakhstan.
In 2007, I met one of Kazakhstan's leading businessmen, Nurbol Nazarbayev. Together we created Magnum, one of the largest Kazakh retailers with 200+ shops in 14 cities of Kazakhstan as for now.
I also held the position of a member of the Board of Directors of the KazTransCom telecom company, one of the main telecom operators in Kazakhstan. This was a great proud for me to represent my friends Karim Massimov and Aigul Nuriyeva in the BoD.
From 2010 to 2013, I served as Chairman of the Board of Seventh Channel, a leading actor of the media market of Kazakhstan. This period gave me an opportunity to work with Altai Kulginov, one of the most effective managers in Kazakhstan.
In 2013, I also established the international investment company ADA GROUP LIMITED.
I created and headed Arai Media, a TV production company. With my team, we managed to gain a leading position in the TV advertising market in Kazakhstan.
In 2015, I dived into the creative industry and acted as a film producer in several movies, including “The Unbroken” and “The Knockout Game”.
I am also one of the founders of the Kazakh-Hong Kong Direct Investment Fund, and I have advised various private funds.
In 2021 I acquired the insurance company Basel to diversify my business. It was a brilliant deal that gave me one of the most effective insurance companies of Kazakhstan.
Now I have a power to invite any international business to Kazakhstan. My actual aim is to return to international markets. And I am looking for partners to implement joint projects in the banking, investment, and media.
